Reading quietly, leaving a comment and sending a message involve different information. Here is how the website’s features work.
Contact messages go by email. Published comments are public. WordPress, spam protection, security and traffic measurement involve technical information. External services have their own data practices.
Website and contact point
This notice concerns differhonestly.com, published as Differ Honestly. It does not cover a service you visit through an outside link. To ask about your information, use the contact form with “Privacy request” as the subject and identify the interaction involved.
Messages you send
The contact form asks for a name, email address, subject and optional message. The first three fields are required. It is configured to send submissions to the website’s contact mailbox by email. Your message therefore passes through the systems used to deliver and store email as well as the website’s form handling.
The information is used to understand and respond to the inquiry. Spam controls may examine the submission and associated technical details. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, identification documents, confidential health records or another person’s private information unless an appropriate process has been agreed.
Public comments and accounts
WordPress records comments and associated details, which can include the public name you choose, email address, IP address and browser information. Once published, the comment and public name can be read or copied by visitors. Do not include information in a comment that you would not want to be public. Your email is not intended to be displayed as part of a comment unless you include it in the text.
Where a Gravatar image is used, an identifier derived from an email address may be sent to retrieve that avatar. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy. Akismet is enabled for spam protection and may process submitted information; its provider explains its processing in the notice for website visitors.
Standard WordPress public account registration is currently disabled. Information for existing accounts can remain stored and be accessible to authorized site administrators.
Technical requests, security and providers
Delivering a page can involve an IP address, browser and device details, the requested URL, referring page and time of access. Hosting, email, security and maintenance providers may process information needed to deliver their services, diagnose problems and prevent abuse. The site uses Wordfence and other WordPress tools for security and administration.
A provider’s systems may operate in a different country from yours. The details depend on the service involved. No website, mailbox or transmission method can be promised to be completely secure.
Cookies and measurement
WordPress uses cookies for functions such as signing in and remembering preferences. Where a comment form offers to save your details, choosing that option can store information in your browser for a later visit. Clearing cookies can sign you out or remove saved preferences; it does not erase a message already sent.
The site loads a Cloudflare beacon for traffic and performance measurement. Cloudflare describes its Web Analytics service as collecting page-view and performance metrics without collecting or using visitors’ personal data. That statement concerns the analytics product; it is not a claim that every hosting or security function handles no personal information.
Use browser controls to manage cookies and restrict third-party requests. This policy does not treat merely continuing to browse as consent to every optional tracking technology.
Outside resources and affiliate links
Pages may request images, scripts, fonts or embedded material from another domain. That provider receives the technical request and may handle it under its own terms. Visiting a social network or a linked reader service takes you to a separate website with separate choices.

How long information remains
Published comments and their metadata can remain indefinitely unless removed. Account details can remain while an account is maintained. Contact messages can remain in mailboxes, email archives and backups after a conversation ends. Copies held by hosting, security and backup systems may have different retention periods.
You can request information about a particular record or ask for its removal. Some material may need to remain for legal, administrative or security reasons. Deleting material from this website does not automatically remove independent copies from another service, a search engine or another person’s device.
Your choices and requests
You can read without posting a comment or sending a message. Depending on the law that applies and your circumstances, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, objection or restriction. Use the contact form to explain a request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity; do not send identity documents in the initial message.
Applicable law may also give you a right to complain to a privacy regulator. Nothing in this notice limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
