Making Your Day Better with Mindfulness
Do you feel that you aren’t really living your best life? You cannot always stay in your past or base everything on your future but you need to live your best life today. How to Be More Mindful
Doing these things isn’t about how many times you do them but doing them means that you are changing what your conscious mind is thinking. When you do these things without thinking about them or how they help you, they won’t help you at all.
Take time each morning to just sit. Do this while you make your coffee or tea. Even if you have to work, take a few minutes to just sit and relax and stretch. Try to feel all of your muscles and let your body wake up. Focus on your breathing and meditate to make your day start out great.
Brushing Your Teeth
Most people brush their teeth right when they get out of bed. Instead of just brushing though, try and be mindful of how the tooth brush feels and how you move it along each of your teeth. Do this and pay attention without just doing it.
Eating healthy isn’t just what you eat but how you eat. Try to turn off the television and put away your phone. Don’t even read a paper. Try and eat and appreciate the food that is going into your body. Eat a healthy diet and pay attention to how each bite tastes. Go slow and be thankful for what you have.
Wash the Dishes
After you are finished eating, immediately go and wash out your dish. Pay attention to how the water feels in your hands and how the soap feels. Be thankful that you have a home and clean water that you can work with.
Tea is a drink that you can drink many times throughout the day. Don’t just drink it though but take your time to pay attention to how the tea tastes and how it makes you feel. Drink it and be mindful as you sip it slowly.
Walk and Take Steps
Take small steps and go for a small walk before you go to work. Pay attention to what you are walking on and how your feet feel with the ground. Pay attention to the sounds your feet make and the texture of the ground you are walking on.
You need to take a few minutes to be silent each morning after you wake up. Find a quiet spot to sit and even to read something. Read a book or an article and find one that will make you feel at peace and happy.
Be thankful for the people in your life. Find people that you look up to and show them how thankful you are that they are part of your life. Tell them what you think of them and why you are thankful for them.
Pick something that you need to get done in the day and stay focused. Pay attention to what you are doing and make sure you are doing your best. If it is cleaning, get it done and don’t try to switch to something else before you are finished.
These are things that you can do to be more mindful. When you are more mindful of what you are doing you will appreciate your day more than you ever thought you could.
